Dardanelle

Dardanelle originated from Cordillo Downs in remote South Australia where horses were mostly known for their look-at-me attributes, lighter officer’s charger types, with the good bone essential to all Walers. Harsh country running sheep in those days required large numbers of excellent horses: sensible, smart and tough. He was rescued in the mid 1980s from saleyards in Alice Springs (destination Peterborough Meatworks in SA) when a Society to save the Waler breed was started.

Dardanelle was an outstanding example with the temperament, looks, charisma and bone of a true Officer, and his legacy is carried on by stallions Ezekiel and Akbah. Read his wonderful story here.
