Simpson

Horses from Cordillo Downs in remote South Australia were mostly known for their look-at-me attributes, lighter Officer’s Charger types, with the good bone essential to all Walers. Harsh country running sheep in those days required large numbers of excellent horses: sensible, smart and tough. These horses were rescued in the mid 1980s from saleyards in Alice Springs (destination Peterborough Meatworks in SA) when a society to save the Waler breed was started.

We are gathering and preserving as much information as possible about our Waler horses. Please let us know if you know anything more about Simpson, anecdotes and photos welcomed!
